Job summary

The Boeing Company is seeking an Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineer for on-site work in Tukwila, WA. You will develop and validate E3 requirements and architectures, conduct tests, and provide EMI/EMC expertise across design, supplier engagement and manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities include performing trade studies, modeling, simulation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize E3 performance, with emphasis on EMI, lightning, HIRF, P-static, EMP and related

Qualifications

  • Requires ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Aeronautical) or related field.
  • 1+ year experience with electromagnetic concepts (RF isolation, shielding, grounding, filtering).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.

Responsibilities

  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation to predict component and system performance for E3.
  • Ensure EMC of electronics, wiring, and structure with limited direction at higher levels.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers on E3 design aspects and report to management and customers.
  • Review supplier test plans and reports for technical correctness and drive corrective actions.
  • Assist project management with statements of work, budgets, schedules, and design inputs.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to assess changes impacting electromagnetic characteristics and mitigations.
  • Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
  • Apply EMI engineering methods to resolve complex problems and document results.
  • Support aircraft-level E3 testing and related activities.
