Job summary

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers group seeks an Electromagnetic Effects Design and Analysis Engineer to support U.S. E-7A and KC-46A programs in Tukwila, WA.

You will define and validate EMI/EMC requirements and architectures for complex subsystems and engage with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure system-level compatibility. The role covers EMI, Lightning, HIRF, P-static, EMP environments, requires testing to requirements, and collaboration across

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical) or related field.
• 1+ years of experience with electromagnetic concepts (RF isolation, shielding, grounding, filtering).
• Willing to travel up to 25% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation to optimize E3 performance.
• Work to achieve EMC of electronics, wiring, and structure.
• Interface with manufacturing and suppliers on E3 design aspects; report to management and customers.
• Review supplier test plans/reports for technical correctness; coordinate corrective actions.
• Support project management with work statements, budgets, schedules and design inputs.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to assess changes to equipment and mitigation plans.
• Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
• Apply EMI engineering methods to resolve complex problems.
• Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and tests.
• Participate on cross-functional teams and present results in reviews.
• Process engineering data into tables, graphs, and reports.
