Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking an Embedded Flight Software Intern to work with engineers on real-time software for rocket engine controllers and spaceborne platforms. You’ll contribute to flight-critical C/C++ code, low-level drivers, and HIL testing within a Colorado-based team.

You will gain hands-on experience with RTOS, embedded systems, and flight software verification, while collaborating across design reviews and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for low-level systems.
• Strong grasp of computer architecture, memory management, pointers, and data structures.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux development environments and Git.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, and maintain high-reliability C/C++ code targeting embedded processors and microcontrollers.
• Implement and debug hardware communication drivers (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and hardware-in-the-loop testing scripts.
• Debug hardware and software integration issues using analysis tools and logs.
• Participate in software design reviews and document technical work.
