Job summary

Toyon Research Corporation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Advanced Concepts flight test team within the Aerospace Systems Group in Goleta, CA. You will take ideas from concept through design, build, test and delivery, focusing on prototype mixed-signal embedded hardware.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design and development.
• Experience designing, assembling, and troubleshooting circuits and PCBAs.
• Proficiency with EE CAD and simulation tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, SPICE, etc.).
• Familiarity with scripting or analysis tools (Python + SciPy, MATLAB, etc.).
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.

Responsibilities

• Perform system analysis, develop architectures, and create detailed electrical designs of advanced avionics and aerospace systems.
• Design and build mixed-signal and embedded system circuits and custom PCBAs.
• Drive hardware development from initial concept through fabrication, integration, and delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges under tight timelines.
• Collaborate across disciplines on multi-project teams.
• Prepare and present technical material for design reviews.
