Job summary

PeoplePilot is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support Flight Management System (FMS) development for an aerospace program in Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on developing, enhancing, debugging, and maintaining embedded C++ software associated with HMI functionality for MCDU applications.

Key responsibilities include analyzing CRs, developing and maintaining MCDU/CDU HMIs, understanding software architecture, and performing debugging and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3-8 years of Embedded Software Development experience.
• Strong C++ programming experience in embedded systems.
• Ability to understand existing software architecture and implement enhancements based on Change Requests.
• Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development lifecycle.
• FMS experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, modify, and enhance existing Embedded C++ software based on Change Requests (CRs).
• Develop and maintain HMI functionality for MCDU/CDU applications.
• Understand software architecture, design constructs, and avionics system requirements.
• Perform software debugging, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and verification.
• Collaborate with system engineers, software architects, verification teams, and customer stakeholders.
• Support software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
• Participate in code reviews and follow aerospace software development processes and standards.
