Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technical Operator in Tucson, AZ. This role involves repairing, testing, and returning aircraft electronic and electro-mechanical equipment to service at the component level, with a focus on legacy systems and cross-functional collaboration.

You will troubleshoot to the component level, repair and overhaul devices, and support production and engineering with data, training, and process improvements. 2nd shift, FAA/regulatory awareness required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant technical or manufacturing experience.
• 4+ years of advanced, component-level troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electronic schematics.
• Strong understanding of circuit operation and tracing signals to isolate failures.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting CCAs and electronic assemblies.
• Soldering skills and ability to obtain J-Standard and IPC certifications.
• Ability to pass rigorous soldering qualifications and SMT processing knowledge.
• Interpret technical specifications and red-line documentation.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and docs-control systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with engineering and production.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot to the component level on CCAs, chassis, wiring, connectors, and box-level assemblies.
• Trace and diagnose circuits; identify faulty components under varying conditions.
• Repair and overhaul aviation equipment in support of FAA requirements.
• Support production and engineering with test data and performance metrics.
• Assist inspection processes and improve quality and efficiency.
• Serve as a technical resource for advanced troubleshooting and soldering.
• Develop training guidance and work instructions for operators.
• Deliver precision soldering while maintaining quality standards.
