Job summary

Platform Aerospace in Maryland/Hollywood is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support electrical system design for aircraft installations and rapid aircraft modifications. You will work under direct supervision with a focus on UAV hardware, harnesses, and avionics integration.

You will collaborate with mechanical, aerospace, and software teams to review features, estimate schedules, and ensure test readiness for FAA and DoD standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in software development for system-level integration and testing.
• Familiarity with debugging PCBs and electrical systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with electrical schematics and harness diagrams for UAVs and ground stations.
• Support COTS avionics interconnections to baseline electrical systems.
• Maintain and update custom avionics data packages.
• Manage aircraft power budget (generation vs draw).
• Create manufacturing and integration data packages (schematics, BOMs, instructions).
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, aerospace, and software teams for design changes.
• Plan and estimate schedules, budgets, and tasks for changes.
• Coordinate with QA for design sign-off and test verification.
• Plan electrical system tests toward FAA or DoD standards.
