Job summary

Apex is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support and advance EHS programs in a fast-paced satellite manufacturing environment in Playa Vista, CA. You will work with Operations, Production, and Facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce risk.

The role focuses on environmental programs, safety investigations, Cal/OSHA compliance, and ongoing risk reduction. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2–5 years of manufacturing EHS experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 2–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similar environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, DTSC, CUPA, and local regulatory authorities applicable to industrial facilities in Los Angeles.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, delivering safety training, inspections, and audits.
• Ability to influence across functions and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in environmental compliance processes for permits, emissions controls, and recordkeeping.
• Support CUPA programs including Hazardous Materials Plans and waste management.
• Maintain core EHS programs: hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine safety, ergonomics, PPE, safety incidents.
• Participate in sustainability metrics and environmental monitoring programs as needed.
• Investigate injuries and near-misses and support corrective actions.
• Review PHAs and audits to identify hazards and drive mitigation.
