Job Description

SEAKR is seeking a motivated, energetic Component Engineer (EEE Parts Engineer) to support the selection, application, and testing of components for state-of-the-art spacecraft electronics. This role supports the Product Assurance Department, reporting to the Parts, Materials, and Processes (PMP) Manager, with a focus on quality and reliability in component selection and testing for aerospace assemblies. The position can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. Key responsibilities include:

  • Selecting electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) components based on space program requirements and maintaining Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Generating Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR) and supporting approval processes with customers.
  • Developing component qualification and screening requirements, including for COTS components used in space.
  • Generating component qualification and screening reports.
  • Creating specifications for new custom components.
  • Performing pre-cap source inspections at supplier facilities.
  • Reviewing and dispositioning component test data and destructive physical analysis results.
  • Supporting component-level failure analyses and corrective actions with suppliers.
  • Communicating effectively with management, suppliers, and internal/external customers.
  • Maintaining an understanding of manufacturer technologies and process capabilities for various parts.
  • Supporting project design reviews internally and with customers.
  • Managing part numbers, datasheets, and change requests in an ERP system.
  • Travel up to approximately 25% as needed.
  • Acting as the company GIDEP representative, assessing and documenting published alerts for impact and disposition.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of EEE Parts Engineering experience in aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of military performance specifications and component requirements (e.g., MIL-STD series, EEE-INST-002, PEM-INST-001, etc.).
  • Effective communication skills for remote collaboration via IM, email, and phone.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with EEE pre-cap or final source inspections and part analysis techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate non-conforming EEE parts for reliability and mission suitability.

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, or other industry standards outside military specifications.
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing and testing (e.g., screening, qualification, DPA).
  • Experience with failure analysis and non-conformance resolution methods.
  • Proficiency with SOPs and work instructions.
  • Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or IFS.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
  • Experience with connectors and cabling for space and vacuum applications.
Additional Information
