Job Overview

Title: Aerospace Painter – 2nd Shift

Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager

Location: Kent, WA – onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule

2nd Shift; Training on 1st Shift. Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts: 1st shift (Mon‑Fri, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (Mon‑Fri, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM), 3rd shift (Sun‑Fri, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM).

Salary Range For Position

$21.80 – $24.80 per hour.

The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience level, skillset, while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Position Summary

Employees in this position will apply a variety of maskants to parts in preparation for paint application. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program. Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre‑employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans production for the shift by analyzing parts to be painted and coordinating the flow of parts to maximize quality and productivity; assigns tasks to lower‑level employees.
• Receives parts to be painted from paint assistant or coordinator; verifies what processes are to be completed.
• Works closely with Paint Assistants and other experienced Painters and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Follows shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.
• Mixes paint to specifications.
• Paints parts with the appropriate thickness as described on the specifications; verifies paint thickness using an Isoscope.
• Paints using the best technique to maximize quality and productivity.
• Moves racks or parts between the staging area and oven.
• Reviews paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed; notifies supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
• Prepares parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
• Prepares parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
• Performs inspection, measuring, and testing of part surfaces as required.
• Maintains paint guns.
