Job summary

RTX is seeking an electronics-focused intern/coop in Tucson to contribute to digital design for missile systems and related Effector products. You will work on FPGA/ASIC hardware, participate in system integration, and gain hands-on experience across testing, documentation, and collaboration with diverse engineering teams.

The program emphasizes mentorship, learning, and working on cutting-edge technology in challenging environments, with a DoD Secret clearance pathway and on-site

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Coursework in circuit design, digital electronics, lab course work, PCB design and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Hardware Design: Assisting in the design of digital circuits for use in missile systems or other effector products, focusing on components like FPGAs, ASICs, and embedded processors.
  • System Integration: Supporting the integration of digital hardware with other system components, such as software, sensors, and analog systems, to ensure seamless operation.
  • Testing and Validation: Conducting laboratory testing and validation of digital designs, including signal integrity analysis, timing analysis, and debugging hardware issues.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design requirements are met and the final product performs as intended.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Preparing design documentation, test plans, and validation reports to communicate progress and ensure compliance with technical and program requirements.
  • Mentorship and Skill Development: Participating in mentorship opportunities and training to enhance technical expertise and understanding of the defense industry's unique challenges.

Education

Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM
