Ursa Major is seeking a Design Engineering intern to support the mechanical design, development, manufacturing, test, and production of rocket motor components. You’ll gain hands-on experience with rocket motor hardware and work on design decisions within a small, fast-moving team at our Berthoud, CO location.

The internship is full-time for 10–12 weeks, on-site in Berthoud. Applicants should be senior students in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering, with CAD experience and strong

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
• Excellent with first-principles analysis for mechanical/fluid cases.
• Hands-on build and/or test experience in project lifecycles.

Responsabilités

• 3D modeling and design of inert motor components, tooling, and development hardware.
• 2D drafting and geometric tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
• Documenting designs and conducting design reviews.
• Performing hand calculations and structural analysis via FEA.
• Assembling inert rocket motor components.
• Providing static fire test support.
