Job summary

Eaton's Mission Systems Division in Orchard Park, NY is seeking a Design Engineer Intern. You will join a product development team, applying classroom knowledge to real-world aerospace problems, performing design, analysis, and testing tasks under senior engineering guidance.

You will work with SolidWorks, MATLAB, LTSpice and other tools, gaining exposure to GD&T, schematics, and manufacturing considerations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Junior standing or higher.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (not rounded).
• Relocation not offered; must reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY.

Responsibilities

• Apply fundamental mechanical or electrical principals and physics to designs.
• Complete basic engineering investigations and tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
• Participate as a team member, help define/refine methods, and actively contribute towards team goals.
• Follow technical documentation requirements and engineering processes.
• Execute design, analysis, and testing/test setup tasks based on direction from Senior Engineers.
• Help the team progress through the current Design Phase of an active project (Development or Qualification).
• Participate in daily project team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
