Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is seeking an Intern - Design Engineering in the Orchard Park area. The role offers hands-on work within a Product Development Team applying classroom knowledge to aerospace problems.

Ideal candidates are junior/senior mechanical or electrical engineering students with GPAs of 2.8 or higher, familiarity with SolidWorks, MATLAB, and LTSpice, and willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Have junior standing or higher.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
• Relocation is not offered; must reside within 50 miles of Orchard Park, NY.
• This position requires ITAR/export control access to information.

Responsibilities

• Apply fundamental mechanical or electrical principals and physics to designs.
• Complete basic engineering investigations and tasks as assigned.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.
• Participate as a team member and help define/refine methods to meet team goals.
• Follow technical documentation requirements and engineering processes.
• Execute design, analysis, and testing/test setup tasks based on direction from Senior Engineers.
• Support the Design Phase of active projects and participate in daily team meetings.
