Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Washington, is seeking an experienced deburring technician for aerospace components. You will deburr, lap, and hand finish high-value parts, read blueprints with GD&T, and ensure quality through precise measurement and documentation.

Role requires 5+ years in aerospace deburring, ability to work weekends/overtime, and lifting up to 25 lbs. The team focuses on safe, repeatable spaceflight manufacturing and Lean improvement practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in deburring aerospace components.
• Experience with pencil, orbital and angle grinders.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.
• Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
• Must be physically able to lift 25 lbs and work weekends/overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Review planning, engineering instructions and tooling for quality readiness.
• Complete job orders and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Safely use hand and power tools to deburr, blend and edge-break components.
• Lap and polish surfaces to blueprint specs.
• Perform final hand finishing of parts.
• Read blueprints to verify configuration satisfies requirements.
• Use gauges, calipers and scales for measurement.
• Assist Lean/CI improvements to reduce waste and safety risks.
• Collaborate with team and communicate effectively.
