Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a skilled deburring technician to prepare aerospace components for flight. You will read blueprints, use pencil/orbital/angle grinders, and finish parts to exact tolerances on high-value hardware.

The role requires strong hand-tool proficiency, safety, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include verifying work orders, maintaining documentation, and collaborating on process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience deburring aerospace components.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
• Appropriate consumable and tool selection for materials.
• Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have hard metal experience (SS, Inconel, Monel).
• Proficient with precision hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Review planning/engineering, work instructions and tooling to verify proper work process and quality requirements.
• Perform accurate and timely completion of all job order documentation and counts.
• Use hand tools and small power tools to deburr, blend and create edge breaks.
• Lap/polish surfaces to meet blueprint requirements and final finish by hand.
• Read and interpret blueprints to verify configuration.
• Use gauges, calipers and measuring equipment for verification.
• Maintain daily cleaning and light maintenance on machinery.
• Collaborate with team using Lean/Continuous Improvement to reduce waste and improve quality.
• Assist with non-production tasks as directed.
