Job summary

RTCA is a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing group based in Sumner, Washington, seeking a Deburr Technician to remove burrs and sharp edges on precision components. You will interpret blueprints, use deburring tools, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances in a fast-paced production environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience in deburring or precision finishing, strong manual dexterity, and the ability to work independently while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in deburring, precision finishing, or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Proficiency using hand tools, deburring equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Strong manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining focus on repetitive tasks.
• Basic math skills and ability to perform measurements and calculations.
• Ability to follow safety requirements and use appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work a full-time, onsite position at our Sumner, WA location.
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and specifications to determine deburr requirements.
• Remove burrs and break edges using grinding wheels, Scotch-Brite wheels, deburring knives, pneumatic tools, and drill presses.
• Perform precision deburring on parts ranging from simple components to complex geometries with tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Troubleshoot deburring challenges and recommend corrective actions to maintain quality and flow.
• Communicate part status, quality concerns, and production issues to supervisors and team members.
• Perform routine maintenance of tools and work area; replace worn or defective tooling.
• Support audits, nonconformance resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain safe work practices and contribute to a clean and organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
