Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Manufacturing Cost Estimator for its aerospace manufacturing facility. The role analyzes materials, labor, tooling, overhead, and production methods to develop accurate cost estimates that support pricing, budgeting, and profitability decisions.

In this position you will work with engineering, supply chain, operations, and finance to ensure proposals are technically feasible and cost-effective. You will support RFQs, make-versus-buy, and continuous cost-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of aerospace cost estimation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for new products, assemblies, and RFQs.
• Analyze material, labor, tooling, machine, and overhead costs.
• Review drawings, BOMs, and routings for cost drivers.
• Perform should-cost analyses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Evaluate alternate manufacturing methods and suppliers for cost impact.
• Collaborate with engineering on DFM and cost optimization.
• Support pricing strategies and business case development.
• Monitor costs vs estimates and improve accuracy.
• Conduct risk assessments on production cost, schedule, and supply chain.
