The Cost Accountant is to perform advanced cost-accounting work covering material and production costs, costs of sales, research and product development, etc.

To compare actual costs to estimates and analyze variances. To develop standard cost data and accurate inventory valuations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Five to ten years’ experience in manufacturing
• Good analytical and organizational skills
• Familiar with Excel and costing systems

Responsibilities

• Analyze and cost manufacturing work orders using the company costing system
• Prepare monthly cost of sales figures and variances
• Maintain FIFO inventory and standard cost data
• Assist accounting manager with journal entries for cost of sales and scrap
