Job summary

Actalent seeks a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and commission advanced aerospace automation systems. You will create PLC logic and HMI interfaces, program Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, and configure servo drives and CNC systems.

Expect on-site installation, travel about 30%, and close collaboration with engineering and project teams. You will contribute to successful project delivery, ensuring safety, precision, and reliability while supporting customer buy-off and ongoing

Qualifications

5+ years of controls engineering or related automation experience.
Proficient PLC programming with Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
Develop and test HMI applications for industrial automation.
Experience CNC programming and drive configuration.
Knowledge of electrical power and distribution for automation.
Willing to travel ~30% domestically for commissioning.
Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test control systems software including PLC logic and HMI interfaces.
Program PLCs from scratch with robust architectures.
Configure and commission servo drives and CNC systems.
Support on-site installation, commissioning, and customer buy-off.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and resolve issues.
Participate in full project lifecycle activities from concept to customer buy-off.
Provide on-site startup support and diagnose control system issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement and documentation.
