FMI in Maine is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to join the Equipment Optimization Team. You will lead automation and control system integration from design through implementation, improving safety, quality, cost, uptime and cycle time.

The role offers hands-on experience across development and engineering disciplines, supporting current production systems and designing future ones, with opportunities to work with customers and external partners on process improvements.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in automotive, food, or aerospace OR 5+ years automation in industrial settings.
  • Experience with control systems and PLC hardware/programming.
  • CAD software familiarity and proficiency.
  • Strong problem solving, product/process development and customer-focused support.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Lean manufacturing principles.

Responsabilidades

  • Design, improve, document, and troubleshoot custom automation systems.
  • Develop and sustain policies for technical work in a growing facility.
  • Lead integration of new systems and automation equipment.
  • Implement, test, and document control improvements using Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Coordinate with customers to qualify process changes and provide technical services.
  • Support equipment commissioning and validation.
