Job summary

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Contracts Administrator to create and review contracts, negotiate terms, and manage documents through review and approval, with the goal of maximizing financial and operational performance while minimizing risk.

You will liaise with Project Managers, Supply Chain, and counsel to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and FARs. This role supports claims, changes, and contract closeout in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in contract management, business management, procurement, law or related field preferred
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in contracts, subcontracts or purchasing
• Demonstrated experience in Project Contract Administration required
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contractual and legal documents, financial reports and technical documents
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must possess excellent organizational skills, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• A working knowledge of federal government procurement procedures
• Good understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations, SOPs and related regulations
• Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality with sensitive information
• Excellent computer skills, including tracking/scheduling software and Microsoft products
• Time management, organization, and detail orientation
• CPCM certification desired
• Knowledge of operations, program management, project management, product development, and procurement desired
• Experience with cross-functional teams
• Experience in aerospace preferred
• ISO9001/AS9100 familiarity
• Advanced understanding of purchasing and supply chain procedures

Responsibilities

• Review and/or prepare subcontracts, contracts, agreements, amendments, change orders, proposals, non-disclosure agreements, rental agreements and other documents
• Identify project risks
• Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure compliance with terms and conditions
• Develop new business proposals ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Prepare and review subcontracts with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure flow down of requirements
• Prepare monthly project reports and present findings at meetings
• Support negotiations of claims and manage contractual changes
• Assess and prepare claims from suppliers
• Manage contract closeout procedures
• Consult with counsel on high-risk items
• Support supplier certification and compliance
• Assist in debriefings, disputes, claims, litigation, settlements
• Maintain complete contract files and records
