Job summary

Apex is seeking an Engineering Configuration & Change Manager to own the integrity and evolution of our product designs and operational systems. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and production, acting as the control layer that ensures every change is tracked and executed without breaking existing work.

You will govern BOMs, implement design changes, and coordinate ECOs across satellites, ground systems, and infrastructure, moving fast while preserving traceability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in configuration management, change management, or engineering operations.
• Hands‑on PLM experience and release management knowledge.
• Experience managing engineering changes (ECR/ECO) through full release and production cycles.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional boards and drive accountability.
• Strong risk assessment and impact analysis for hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Experience in aerospace, satellite, or mission‑critical environments.
• Ability to read technical documentation and drawings.
• Ownership mindset in fast‑paced startup environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish Change Management policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Own and maintain product BOM structures and configuration baselines.
• Lead Change Control Board meetings and processes.
• Perform impact analysis and risk assessment for engineering changes.
• Coordinate ECO implementation across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
• Drive configuration audits to verify hardware‑software‑documentation alignment.
• Analyze change incidents and drive corrective actions to reduce failures.
• Resolve conflicts between competing priorities and schedule changes.
• Partner with supply chain to ensure BOM executability and procurement safety.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.
