Apex Technology, Inc. seeks an Engineering Configuration & Change Manager to own the integrity and evolution of product designs and operational systems.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and production, acting as the control layer to ensure changes are tracked, assessed, and executed without breaking existing performance. You will govern BOM structures, implement design changes, and coordinate high-stakes updates across satellites, ground systems, and infrastructure,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related field.
• 7+ years in configuration or change management or engineering operations.
• Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or equivalent).
• Experience managing engineering changes (ECR/ECO) through full release and production cycles.
• Lead cross-functional boards and drive accountability across teams.
• Strong risk assessment and impact analysis for hardware, software, and infrastructure changes.
• Experience in aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, or mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Resolve conflicts between priorities and schedule changes to avoid disruptions.
• Partner with supply chain to ensure BOMs are executable and changes avoid procurement risks.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.
• Bridge design, production, operations, and test for continuous improvement.

About the Role

Apex is looking for an Engineering Configuration & Change Manager to own the integrity and evolution of our product designs and operational systems. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and production- acting as the control layer that ensures every change is tracked, assessed, and executed without breaking what's already working. You'll govern how we manage BOMs, implement design changes, and coordinate high-stakes operational updates across satellites, ground systems, and infrastructure. You're the person who makes sure we move fast without losing traceability, scalability, or reliability.

Responsibilities:

Establish Change Management policies, standards, and governance frameworks

Own and maintain product BOM structures and configuration baselines

Lead Change Control Board meetings and process

Perform impact analysis and risk assessment for all engineering changes

Coordinate ECO implementation across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams

Drive configuration audits to verify hardware-software-documentation alignment across production units

Analyze change-related incidents and drive corrective actions to reduce failure rates and impacts

Resolve conflicts between competing priorities and schedule changes to avoid operational disruptions

Partner with supply chain to ensure BOMs are executable and changes don't create procurement risks

Identify automation opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and reduce manual governance overhead

Act as the bridge between design, production, operations, and test to ensure continuous improvement

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or related technical field

7+ years of experience in configuration management, change management, or engineering operations

Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or equivalent)

Experience managing engineering changes (ECR/ECO) through full release and production cycles

Proven ability to lead cross-functional boards and drive accountability across teams

Strong risk assessment and impact analysis skills for hardware, software, and infrastructure changes

Experience supporting aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, or mission-critical environments

Ability to read technical documentation, drawings, and specifications

Strong ownership mindset in fast-paced, high-ambiguity startup environments

Nice to have:

Master's degree in engineering, business administration, or related fields

Certification in configuration management

Experience with aerospace standards (AS9100, ARP4754, DO-160/178)

Background in satellite systems, avionics, propulsion, or ground infrastructure

Experience working with contract manufacturers and managing BOM execution at scale

Scripting or data analysis skills (Python, SQL) for metrics and reporting automation

Experience in high-reliability or high-rate production environments
