Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our Structures Department. You will develop tooling and fixtures for large composite components and drive full-rate production on current programs, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve processes.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage tooling projects, and mentor engineers, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and cost targets in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years in carbon fiber/ aerospace manufacturing.
• CAD proficiency for tooling/fixturing designs.
• Excellent communication & cross-functional collaboration.
• Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing Black Belt certification preferred.
• Master's degree a plus.
• Experience with Automated Fiber Placement is required.
• Experience in quick-turn composite tooling design and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment for aerospace composites.
• Continuously optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures for cost, quality, and throughput.
• Own hardware development and production processes, meeting schedules and driving improvements.
• Develop innovative tooling/fixturing solutions to boost efficiency and quality.
• Be the primary expert for part fabrication guidance and construction.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality to integrate processes into production.
