Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Structures Department in Austin, TX. You will develop tooling and fixtures for development and production of the world’s largest liquid-fueled composite rocket, driving full-rate production and process improvements.

You’ll lead hardware development, optimize cycles, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in carbon fiber composite aerospace manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD for tooling/fixturing design.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• 6+ years in aerospace manufacturing with appropriate degree (7+ years preferred).
• Six Sigma/Lean certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead tooling, fixtures, and production equipment design for aerospace composites.
• Improve processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Own hardware development and production processes with schedule adherence.
• Develop innovative tooling/fixturing solutions.
• Act as expert on hardware fabrication and guidance.
