Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, Inc. in Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park) is seeking a Composite Technician II to fabricate aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs.

You will work with primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. Responsibilities include cutting and kitting materials, bonding, hand lamination, vacuum bag cure cycles, and ensuring material traceability per AS9100.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of composite manufacturing experience.
• Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute composite builds.
• Proficient use of pneumatic tools, hand tools, and precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret composite layup and assembly prints.
• Experience working with material data sheets.
• Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Cut and kit composite materials to tight tolerances.
• Perform bonding operations including surface prep and adhesive application.
• Execute hand lamination of carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and core materials.
• Perform full vacuum bag cure cycles including debulking and oven monitoring.
• Identify scarf back plies (scarfing) as required.
• Interpret composite layup drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Ensure material traceability in compliance with AS9100.
• Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
• Maintain shop organization and PPE compliance.
