Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Composite Technician to repair parts using wet layup and prepregs in a controlled shop setting in Solon, OH.

The role requires attention to precision, cleanliness, and adherence to FAA guidelines, with opportunities to work with autoclave and curing ovens. The candidate should have a High School diploma (Airframe & Powerplant license not required but welcome) and be able to operate in English, with reliable transportation and a willingness to work

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent.
• Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome.
• A valid driver’s license and/or passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Capable to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.).
• Capable to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
• Ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
• PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding.
• Extensive use of bagging materials.
• Able to bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
• Capable of using a "Hot-Bonder" type machine cure procedure.
• Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
• Safely operate shop equipment such as: curing oven, autoclave, vacuum
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
