Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 1 for our San Diego location to work on 2nd shift (1:00 pm - 10:30 pm) with a 7% differential. The role focuses on handling fragile composite materials, prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products within our Mission Enabling Products organization.

The position requires a high school diploma with 0–2+ years of experience in composites/manufacturing, and the ability to read and follow written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 0–2+ years in composite lay-up/bonding in manufacturing.
• Experience in composites/manufacturing for space/satellite structures or aerospace environments.
• Able to read/write/work from written instructions, blueprints or shop drawings in English.

Responsibilities

• Handle and manage fragile composite materials; prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
• Experience with lay-up of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs.
• Report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
• Tooling preparation and release applications.
• Use calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
• Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
• Execute tasks according to written instructions.
