Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas is seeking an Engineering Technical Analyst to guide estimating, fabrication and report-out activities across multiple aerospace research projects. You will collaborate with engineering, materials, and program teams to translate lab concepts into factory-ready solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in fabrication and machining, experience with CAD (CATIA), engineering drawings, strong communication, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of fabrication and machining technology experience
• 5+ years of manufacturing environment experience
• Experience with CATIA or other CAD
• Engineering and technical drawing interpretation
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Understanding of estimating and budgets
• Ability to obtain a US security clearance

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of aerospace fabrication and assembly processes to support fabrication research strategies
• Design, develop, verify, and implement improvements to fabrication technologies
• Support cross-functional teams and assist in cost/weight savings
• Research, design and analyze materials and tools for aero structures
• Develop material properties and processing methods for metallic fabrication projects
• Review drawings for conformance and assist in resolving failures
• Implement concepts, analyze prototypes, and ensure compliance with customer requirements
• Facilitate technology implementation in production and user support
• Determine feasibility of new design and fabrication techniques
• Oversee fabrication of test parts for research projects
• Assist with programming and sustainment of lab machining assets
