Job summary
Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita is looking for a Metals and Fabrication Research Engineer to support both commercial and defense research projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation and fabrication technology and strong knowledge of metal additive manufacturing.
This role involves collaborating with engineering teams to guide technical solutions from lab to factory floor and requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
At Spirit AeroSystems, we offer a competitive salary range between $75,550 and $115,850 depending on experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience with automation and fabrication technology.
- Knowledge and experience with metal additive technology.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of aerospace mechanical/structural component fabrication.
- Industrialize and scale additive metal manufacturing processes.
- Review engineering drawings for part conformance.
