Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Components Manufacturing Prep Technician to join our production ecosystem in the United States. You will work with Manufacturing, Planning, Warehouse and Manufacturing Engineering to prepare incoming jobs for production, verify parts and documentation, and stage work for the line.

The role covers unpacking parts, inspection, cleaning, marking, and light prep assembly. You will support ERP/MES workflows and maintain a safe, organized environment, with flexibility to

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of aerospace/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to follow work instructions and read documents.
• Strong problem-solving in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with focus on verification and readiness.
• Experience with ERP or manufacturing tracking systems.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Schedule varies; willingness to work nights/weekends/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Review planned work orders and align daily priorities with production leads.
• Prepare incoming jobs for production by printing work instructions, assembling packets, and staging in flow locations.
• Unpack parts, organize hardware, and verify all required parts are present and correct.
• Consume parts in ERP and support part pick activities when shortages are identified.
• Visually inspect incoming parts for damage and non-conformance.
• Clean hardware using approved methods and perform part marking.
• Perform prep-level assembly operations (e.g., helicoil/keensert).
• Triage held jobs to unblock work and coordinate with teams to resolve issues.
• Escalate inventory, BOM and documentation issues to Warehouse/Planning/ME.
• Document rework, create NCRs, and support redlines of instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and conduct safety checks.
