Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Component Configuration Management Specialist to establish and maintain configuration control for electronic, electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical component data across the product lifecycle, serving as the authoritative focal point for configuration records in PLM, PDM, and ERP systems.

The role spans engineering, design, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, program management, and external suppliers.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent with 8+ years' experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience in engineering configuration management, component engineering operations, product data management, or related aerospace/defense discipline.
• Demonstrated experience controlling engineering parts lists, BOMs, product structures, drawings, specifications, or component master data in a regulated environment.
• Experience with engineering change requests/notices, release workflows, configuration baselines, effectivity, deviations/waivers, and change implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, technical review, and controlled release of component-related engineering changes.
• Analyze proposed substitutions, alternate sources, manufacturer changes, and revisions to identify affected configurations.
• Facilitate or support CCBs and release-readiness reviews; document decisions and implementation status.
• Coordinate change effectivity with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program teams.
• Ensure released technical data packages are complete, consistent, and suitable for procurement, production, and sustainment.
