Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Lead Project Engineer in Phoenix, AZ, to guide CNS projects, define scope, schedules, and budgets, and lead a team of engineers across global sites. You will mentor staff, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement within a hybrid work model from Deer Valley Phoenix.

The ideal candidate brings a BS in electrical or software engineering and at least 6 years in avionics project engineering, with export-control eligibility in the U.S. aerospace sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in electrical or software engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in project engineering developing FAA/EASA certified avionics hardware and software systems for the Aerospace industry.
• Must be a US person for export control work.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in development of proposals, statements of work and associated cost estimates.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and the program manager.
• Define and implement project scope, objectives, deliverables, prepare schedules and resource forecasting in Microsoft Project.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
• Lead a robust risk management process to identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery.
• Contain scope growth through robust baseline change management.
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.
