Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to drive design, implementation, and validation of complex avionics hardware. You will lead cross-functional teams, own hardware development, and report to the Director of Engineering in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires 10+ years in hardware design, DO-160 and DO-254 experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor engineers while delivering safe, high-performance aerospace systems on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of hardware design and development experience.
• Proven knowledge of hardware design principles and industry standards (DO-160/DO-254).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate hardware teams (board, mechanical, FPGA, safety) in development of product hardware.
• Develop project plans and support schedule development.
• Lead hardware verification tests and DO-254 traceability.
• Manage customer interactions and ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget.
• Interface with Honeywell Aerospace production to produce hardware.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on industry trends.
