Attco Aerospace is seeking an experienced CNC Turning Setup Machinist to prepare and run aerospace-grade lathes, ensuring tight tolerances and pristine finishes. You will interpret complex blueprints, set tooling, offsets, and verify programs before cutting, while maintaining AS9100 quality standards.

You will also perform first article and in-process inspections, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in a high-precision, safety-conscious environment.

Formación

• 3+ years CNC lathe setup in aerospace or high-precision environments.
• Fluency in blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Ability to edit G-code and work with Mazatrol or Fanuc controls.

Aerospace CNC Turning Setup MachinistShape flight-critical parts with precision. In this role, you will prepare, run, and refine CNC lathes to produce tight-tolerance aerospace components while upholding stringent quality and regulatory standards.A Day in the LifePrepare the machine: install tooling and fixtures, set work and tool offsets, and verify programs before the first cut.Run production on CNC lathes to achieve aerospace-level tolerances and finishes.Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and process sheets, applying GD&T throughout.Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision gauges and instruments.Apply offsets and make minor program tweaks to maintain dimensional accuracy and repeatability.Continuously monitor machine performance; diagnose and resolve machining issues promptly.Record production and inspection results in line with our quality system and AS9100 processes.Keep a well-organized, 5S-compliant workstation and follow all safety and company procedures.What You BringHigh school diploma or GED.3+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience in aerospace or other high-precision environments.Fluency in blueprint reading and GD&T.Hands-on experience with Mazatrol, Fanuc, or comparable CNC controls.Comfort machining aerospace materials: titanium, Inconel, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys.Strong understanding of speeds/feeds, tooling selection, and cutting strategies for difficult-to-machine metals.PreferredBackground in AS9100 or ISO-certified manufacturing.Knowledge of first article inspection (FAI) protocols.Ability to edit G-code.Experience with multi-axis or live-tooling lathes.Core CompetenciesExceptional attention to detail and commitment to high quality.Sharp troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Self-directed with minimal supervision.Clear communication and effective teamwork.Continuous improvement mindset and lean manufacturing orientation.Physical RequirementsStand for extended periods.Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of precision components.Work Environment & CultureAerospace manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and cutting fluids.PPE compliance and safety protocols are mandatory.Under new ownership since February 2024: leadership has increased pay, invested heavily back into the business, expanded benefits, and promotes from within—creating more advancement opportunities than in the past.Technical ProficienciesGD&TCNC ToolingTroubleshooting SkillsG-Code and M-CodeCNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverAdvanced Inspection & Gauge MeasurementAerospace ManufacturingMachine Setups for Production RunsManual Machining Skills
