Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Meriden, CT is seeking an experienced Turning Machinist to set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers for precision aerospace components. You will read blueprints, monitor processes, and ensure parts meet exact specifications and quality standards.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to AS9100 guidelines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of CNC turning or lathe experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience working with tight tolerances and precision-machined components.
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers.
Load tooling, fixtures, and materials according to setup documentation.
Perform machine offsets and tooling adjustments to maintain dimensional requirements.
Monitor machining operations and make necessary corrections throughout production runs.
Produce precision aerospace components to engineering specifications and quality requirements.
Read blueprints, perform inspections, and verify dimensional accuracy.
