Job summary

Parts Tool & Die, LLC (PTD) in Agawam, MA, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for the second shift to set up, prove out, and operate high-precision turning centers for aerospace components. The role requires strong GD&T knowledge and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

You will select tools, fixtures, and strategies to maintain tight tolerances, while ensuring safety and quality across high-value materials. Prior aerospace exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience independently setting up and operating CNC turning centers.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes, C-axis and Y-axis machining, live tooling, and sub-spindles.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience manufacturing complex components to tight dimensional tolerances.
• Aerospace or regulated precision-manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, prove out, and operate CNC lathes with C-axis and Y-axis capabilities.
• Operate multi-axis turning centers with live tooling and sub-spindles.
• Select cutting tools, workholding, inspection methods, and machining strategies.
• Produce high-value aerospace components with tight tolerances and first-pass yield.
• Perform first-article and in-process dimensional verification.
