Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Machinist II (CNC Turn) to operate and set up CNC turning machines for high-precision aerospace components. You will perform full machine setups, program edits, troubleshooting, and ensure parts meet tight blueprints and GD&T standards.

This is a direct hire on the 2nd shift in South Windsor, CT with hourly rates of $28–$35/hour and annual bonus eligibility. Training on 1st shift for 3 months, OT available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience (lathe required).
• Must read prints and interpret GD&T.
• Ability to set up machines independently from prints.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning (lathe) machines independently.
• Perform full machine setups including tooling, offsets, and fixture alignment.
• Make program edits and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Operate multiple CNC machines in a cellular environment.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, sketches and work orders.
• Apply feeds, speeds, and tooling selection knowledge.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain production documentation and quality records.
• Support and mentor junior machinists as needed.
