Job summary

Belcan is seeking a highly skilled CNC Milling/Turning Machinist for the 2nd shift in East Granby, CT. The role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines to produce aerospace components with tight tolerances.

The ideal candidate has extensive aerospace machining experience, GD&T proficiency, and works with Fanuc or Okuma controls. The position offers competitive pay, a 15% shift differential, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years CNC machining experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Experience operating and setting up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Familiar with Fanuc and/or Okuma CNC controls.
• Strong GD&T understanding and ability to interpret symbols.
• Ability to read Blueprints, Operation sheets, Setup instructions & CNC programs.
• Experience with complete machine setups including fixture alignment and tooling installation.
• Proficiency with Renishaw probing systems and touch setters.
• Ability to machine components to tolerances as tight as ±0.0005 inch.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling equipment for aerospace components.
• Independently operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines in a high-precision environment.
• Perform complete machine setups, fixture installation, tooling setup, and offset adjustments.
• Interpret blueprints, operation sheets, and CNC programs to ensure accuracy.
• Use tooling balls to establish fixture locations and verify features during setup.
• Produce components from Inconel, Hastelloy, Titanium, Stainless Steel & Aluminum.
• Monitor operations and adjust tooling/offsets as needed.
• Operate multiple CNC machines within a manufacturing cell when required.
• Conduct in-process inspections with precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain a safe, organized, quality-focused work environment.
