Job summary

ClearBridge Executive Search is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Setup Technician to join our high‑performance manufacturing team in Morristown, NJ. The role emphasizes ownership of processes, precision machining, and continuous learning on aerospace and high‑tolerance components.

You will set up 3–, 4–, and 5‑axis machines, program fabrication operations, and ensure quality and safety compliance. Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of independent CNC machine setup experience.
• Strong proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with turning, milling, grinding, and gear-shaping equipment.
• Background in a machine shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to quality and safety codes throughout machining operations.
• Maintain CNC machinery to ensure proper operation.
• Create CNC programs for fabrication and machining.
• Operate machines to meet production requirements.
• Set up 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines with accuracy and efficiency.
• Read GD&T, blueprints, and manufacturing drawings.
• Select tooling, determine speeds/feeds, and establish machining strategies.
• Use micrometers and gauges to verify part quality.
• Diagnose machining issues and optimize processes.
• Collaborate with team to maintain workflow and safety.
