Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Winsted, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer (MFE) to lead process development for precision-machined aerospace components. You will collaborate across Engineering, Production, Quality and suppliers to optimize manufacturing methods and NC programs.

Ideal candidates have CNC machining experience, CAD/CAM skills, GD&T, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement. Competitive pay, bonus, and day-one benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5–10 years in manufacturing engineering for precision-machined components.
• Strong CNC machining knowledge, tooling, fixturing, and process optimization.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for precision-machined components.
• Determine methods, operation sequences, tooling, fixturing, inspection, and outside processing needs.
• Create routings, operation sheets, setup instructions, and process documentation.
• Generate manufacturing cost estimates and support quotes.
• Provide daily engineering support to production and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
• Develop CNC machining strategies and NC programs using Mastercam or Siemens NX.
• Use NX CAD to create setup sheets, operation plans, and tooling/fixture concepts.
• Interpret drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Support first article inspections, process validation, PPAP activities, and production readiness.
• Maintain routing and labor data in ERP/MRP systems.
• Drive cycle time reductions, process improvements, waste reduction, and productivity initiatives.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing and suppliers to ensure successful execution.
• Support development projects from concept to production launch.
