Job summary

Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine machining, producing turbine blades and vanes with CNC milling, EDM, and 3-5 axis grinding. The Operations Supervisor will lead CNC, Milling, 5 axis, 3 axis, and EDM operators across Bloomingdale, IL, coordinating production to meet rising demand.

The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and safety focus, with proven experience in tight-tolerance manufacturing and supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in tight tolerance production.
• Minimum 3 years CNC experience with 5 axis and/or 3 axis and surface grinding.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Strong math skills and ability to read prints.
• Must be able to measure parts with tight tolerances using calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities of the shift to ensure productivity, quality, on-time delivery, and profitability goals are met.
• Assist the Operations Manager in handling the customer’s parts and information during the production cycle.
• Motivate, coach, mentor and lead employees to deliver high performance; address improvement opportunities.
• Communicate regularly with leadership about problems in production, people or quality.
• Evaluate and implement improvements to jobs to maximize profitability and throughput.
• Train employees on processes, policies and procedures to build skilled operators.
• Troubleshoot machine and job problems and coordinate with maintenance for resolution.
• Lead by example and uphold safety programs and processes.
• Drive high quality through all operations and accountability for results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
