Job summary

Barnes Aerospace seeks an experienced CNC Machinist for 1st shift in East Hartford, CT. You will operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling/turning machines, read blueprints, and set up tools for aerospace parts made from inconel, titanium and stainless steel.

Requirements include 5+ years in aerospace/high-precision manufacturing, strong math and GD&T knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace/high-precision manufacturing.
• 3+ years operating CNC multi-axis milling machines.
• Experience setting up and changing over CNC jobs.
• Strong mechanical ability and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; able to collaborate to solve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling/turning machines.
• Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously where possible.
• Work with inconel, titanium, stainless steel.
• Read and interpret operation sheet symbols.
• Proficient in math; use a calculator.
• Use Fanuc controls; set offsets as required.
• Load fixtures and operate hoist to load parts.
• Read blueprints and interpret CNC programs at the machine.
• Interpret tool sheets; set up tools.
• Use precision measuring tools: gauges, calipers, micrometers.
• Familiarity with right-angle heads.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Work within tight tolerances (thousandths).
