Barnes Aerospace seeks an experienced CNC Machinist for 1st shift in East Hartford, CT. You will operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling/turning machines, read blueprints, and set up tools for aerospace parts made from inconel, titanium and stainless steel.

Requirements include 5+ years in aerospace/high-precision manufacturing, strong math and GD&T knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities. Competitive benefits provided.

Position Details:

Location: East Hartford, CT

1st shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years of experience in an aerospace or high precision manufacturing environment - aerospace preferred
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC multi-axis milling machine preferred
• Experience setting up and changing over jobs on CNC equipment.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues.

Your Challenge:

• Run 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and/or turning machines
• Operate multiple CNC machines simultaneously where possible/feasible as most machines are part of manufacturing cells/machining centers
• Work with hard metals such as inconel, titanium and stainless steel
• Read and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
• Load fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
• Read blueprints and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
• Interpret tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
• Use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Familiarity with operation of right-angle heads
• Have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge
• Possess the ability to work within tight tolerances such as thousandths

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Salary:

$23/hour - $42/hour
