Job summary

The Machinist II at VSE Aviation in Bloomfield, CT, will perform alteration tasks on civil aviation articles following FAA-approved data and manufacturer instructions. He/She will also develop, duplicate, and manufacture tooling as required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of machining or related experience.
• Or an associate's degree, relevant technical degree or certificate in lieu of 2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Must read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
• Basic computer operating skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts per specifications.
• Prioritize components for repairs to meet on-time delivery.
• Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC/hones equipment.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of tools and proper use within area.
• Document maintenance records of repair work orders.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment daily.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure aerospace standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
