Job summary

VSE Aviation is seeking a skilled Machinist II to perform precision alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with FAA-approved data and industry standards. The role also involves developing and manufacturing tooling equipment as required.

The position requires setting up CNC machines, interpreting drawings, and maintaining tooling while collaborating with engineering and quality teams to ensure parts meet aerospace standards. Other duties may apply.

Qualifications

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills, lathes, or hones machining equipment, to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Prioritize components for repairs to ensure on-time delivery requirements are met.
  • Perform quality checks on parts using precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC and/or hones machining equipment as needed.
  • Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to ensure all parts meet aerospace standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
