Job summary

RPS Recruitment is seeking a CNC Machinist to join a world-renowned aerospace and defence segment. You will set up and operate CNC milling machines, read engineering drawings, and work with materials including Invar and aluminium in a high-precision environment.

You will perform in-process inspections with micrometers and calipers, maintain safety and cleanliness, and contribute to meeting production targets in a DoD-adjacent context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles.
• Experience working to tight tolerances across complex components.
• Competence using manual inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines in line with job specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Machine a range of materials including Invar, aluminium, composite and graphite.
• Perform in process inspection using manual measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment while meeting production targets.
