Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist on 2nd shift to support advanced aerospace manufacturing. You will perform independent setups, operate turning and grinding equipment, and inspect parts to print with tight tolerances.

In this hands-on role you will read engineering drawings, apply GD&T, adjust processes to maintain dimensional control, and document results. You will also contribute to continuous improvement and safeguard quality on the floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CNC turning and/or grinding and independent machine setups.
• Proven ability to machine parts to tight tolerances with precision measurement tools and documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• This role may require work shifts beyond a standard workweek and 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent CNC setups on lathes, turning centers, and grinding equipment.
• Operate CNC and grinding equipment, monitor process performance, and adjust to maintain quality.
• Read drawings and GD&T to meet dimensional requirements.
• Document inspection results and validate first‑piece acceptance.
• Identify and address machining issues and stop nonconformances when needed.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S, and standard work on the shop floor.
