Job summary

RTX’s Bridgeport Engine Center seeks a CMM Inspector to perform precision dimensional inspections on aircraft engine components in overhaul and repair. You will operate CMMs and PC-DMIS, evaluate critical dimensions and tolerances, and collaborate with Engineering and Quality to ensure conformance to specs.

You’ll train on 1st shift and support the 2nd shift, working in a regulated aerospace environment where accuracy matters and safety is paramount.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of dimensional inspection or related manufacturing experience.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Able to use precision measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of dimensional inspection duties relating to overhaul and repair of engines or components.
• Perform dimensional checks using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Work with precision measurement gauges such as height gage, micrometer, calipers, and optical comparator.
• Interpret complex blueprint drawings and work with engineering to measure configurations.
• Read and understand measurement tolerances and GD&T requirements.
• Use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (PWA360) for crucial fits and clearances.
• Provide component dimensions and inspection results to determine conformance to specifications.
• Follow safety, environmental, and company procedures.
